Issue2 of
Holdfast magazine came out yesterday including the Indoor Writer's short story 'Down came a blackbird', along with a wonderful original illustration by Jessica Carmen Shamley.

Enjoyed your story, Tracy. Has it been published somewhere before? Not come across Holdfast magazine either. It's very nicely produced - the picture accompanying your story is beautiful!

Yes, this story was runner-up in Exeter Writers' Prize 2012, but I had permission to submit elsewhere (always worth asking) & was totally honest with Holdfast - there was no payment for this ... Holdfast is fairly new, but I found them very responsive, friendly and professional. And it was a treat to get an original illustration.
